Traditional Drumming & Dance Shows
Womba Africa's performances are a vibrant tapestry of indigenous rhythms, dances, and songs.
Our shows feature:
Handmade Instruments: Drums carved from wood and covered with goat, cow, or antelope skins; bamboo flutes; and wooden xylophones.
Polyphonic Singing: Songs primarily in the Ga language, performed in rich, layered harmonies.
Criss-Cross Rhythms: A unique style where the master drummer leads with a beat, supported by accompanying rhythms and a bell timer to maintain tempo.
Symbolic Costumes: Colorful Ghanaian fabrics adorned with Adinkra symbols, such as the Sankofa, representing the importance of learning from the past.
